Why D365 Sales Projects Stall

Most CRM implementations try to build everything before go-live. The result is a long project cycle: months of requirements, a massive statement of work, and a launch date that keeps slipping. Sellers stay on their old tools. AI gets pushed to Phase 2 and often never arrives.

Scope balloons before anyone uses the system

Every stakeholder adds a requirement, and nothing gets prioritized by actual usage.

Go-live dates slip, momentum dies

Long builds drain urgency. By launch, the team is fatigued and leadership has moved on.

AI becomes an afterthought

Copilot gets deferred to a future phase while sellers miss out on capabilities already paid for in their Microsoft 365 licenses.

What's Actually Included

The D365 Sales Accelerator is fixed-fee and fixed-scope. You know exactly what you're getting before you commit. Every item below is included, nothing is left for a change order.

Best-practice D365 Sales configuration

Pre-built workflows, dashboards, and data model tuned to how B2B sales teams actually sell.

Data migration from your existing CRM

Accounts, contacts, leads, and open opportunities mapped and moved from your current system.

Copilot for Sales activated on day one

AI-generated email drafts, meeting prep, and opportunity summaries live when your team logs in.

AI-powered lead scoring and relationship insights

Built-in signals help sellers focus on the deals most likely to close and flag accounts that need attention.

Role-based training

Hands-on training for sellers, sales managers, and admins on both the platform and Copilot capabilities.

Go-live and early adoption support

We stay through stabilization so issues get resolved before they become adoption problems.

How the Sales Accelerator Works

Three phases. A predictable path to go-live. Fixed scope from kickoff to stabilization.

Timeline: Most Sales Accelerators complete in 6 to 10 weeks depending on data complexity and team size. The exact timeline is confirmed during scoping, before you sign.

1. Scoping and Alignment

Confirm the configuration, data sources, and training plan. Document scope and sign off on the fixed fee before any build starts.

2. Configure, Migrate, and Enable

Best-practice configuration is stood up, data is migrated from your current CRM, and Copilot for Sales is activated in your Microsoft 365 tenant.

3. Go-Live and Enablement

Users are trained by role, go-live is supported in real time, and early adoption is monitored through stabilization.

What Your Team Gets on Day One

You don't get a half-configured system and a training deck. You get a productive, AI-assisted sales team in weeks, with a platform ready to evolve as you learn what else it needs to do.

  • Sellers working in the system on day one, not months later
  • Copilot for Sales drafting emails, summarizing deals, and prepping meetings
  • Clean, consolidated pipeline visibility for sales leadership
  • A single source of truth for accounts, contacts, and opportunities
  • A platform ready for Phase 2 customization informed by real usage

Where the Sales Accelerator Fits Best

Relationship-driven selling with regulated data handling, where Copilot helps sellers prep for client conversations without compromising controls.

Manufacturing

Long sales cycles with complex quoting and account hierarchies, where pipeline visibility drives forecasting accuracy.

Professional Services

Expertise-based selling where opportunity summaries and meeting prep compress the time between qualified interest and signed engagement.

SaaS & Technology

High-velocity pipelines where lead scoring, email drafting, and deal intelligence keep reps focused on the right opportunities.

Sales Accelerator FAQ

The questions buyers ask before they commit. If yours isn't here, ask your TrellisPoint advisor.

What if we're migrating from a CRM that isn't on the pre-approved integration list? We migrate from any source CRM. The pre-approved list only governs live integrations, not source-system migration.

Data migration is included from any source system. The pre-approved integration list applies to live integrations we wire up at go-live (HubSpot, Mailchimp, DocuSign, QuickBooks Online, SharePoint Online, LinkedIn Sales Navigator), not to the source CRM you're moving off of. If you're coming from Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, an Excel export, or a legacy in-house tool, we map and migrate it as part of your tier's standard scope.

What happens if our scope changes mid-project? In-scope adjustments are absorbed. New work is quoted separately, and you decide whether to add it now or push it to Phase 2.

The fixed-fee scope is documented before kickoff and the team works to that scope. If something inside scope shifts (a different field name, a tweak to a workflow), we absorb it. If something genuinely new comes up, we flag it, give you a quoted change order, and you decide whether to add it now or save it for D365 Evolve. There are no surprise invoices.

Can we move from one tier to another after we sign? Yes, with a re-scope. Most tier changes happen during scoping, before signing.

Tier sizing usually settles during the scoping phase, before you sign. If you discover mid-project that you need to step up, more users than expected or an integration you didn't plan for, we re-scope to the appropriate tier and adjust the fixed fee. Stepping down is rare but works the same way.

Do we need Microsoft 365 already in place to run Copilot for Sales? Yes. Copilot for Sales requires the right Microsoft 365 and Copilot licensing. We confirm before signing.

Copilot for Sales requires Microsoft 365 with the appropriate Copilot license attached. We'll confirm your licensing during scoping and flag any gaps before signing. If you don't have the right SKUs yet, we can help you procure them through TrellisPoint or your existing reseller before kickoff.

What's not included in the fixed fee? Microsoft licensing, custom integrations beyond the pre-approved list, deeply custom development, and post-stabilization Phase 2 work.

The fixed fee covers configuration, data migration, Copilot activation, training, and stabilization support as listed in your tier. It does not cover Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 licensing (you procure those separately), custom integrations beyond the pre-approved list, deeply custom development, or post-stabilization Phase 2 work. Phase 2 work is handled through D365 Evolve, which is a separate continuous-improvement engagement.

What happens after the go-live and stabilization period ends? Most clients move into D365 Evolve, our continuous improvement engagement.

The Accelerator gets your team live and stable. After that, most clients move into D365 Evolve, where we build out integrations, automations, and customizations informed by how your team is actually using the system. From there, the AI Value Engine can extend AI into specific business processes with governance and measurable ROI.

One of Three Accelerator Offers

The D365 Sales Accelerator is one of three offers in the D365 Accelerators program. Pick the one that matches where your team needs to move first, and layer additional Accelerators as your business grows.

After go-live, most clients move into D365 Evolve, a continuous engagement where we build the integrations, automations, and customizations informed by real usage. From there, the AI Value Engine extends AI into specific business processes with governance and measurable ROI.
