Talk to Us About Your Microsoft Licensing
Send us your current renewal dates and user counts. We will come back with a right-sized recommendation, a quote, and a path to consolidate licensing, services, and support under one roof.
Common Questions About Microsoft Licensing
If you do not see your question here, contact us and we will walk through your specific environment.
How does TrellisPoint handle license renewals?
We track every renewal date in your account and reach out 60 to 90 days before expiration with a usage review and pricing options. You will not be auto-renewed onto a higher-cost SKU without a conversation, and you will not lapse.
How quickly can I access licenses after purchasing?
New Microsoft licenses are typically provisioned within one business day. Adds and reductions for existing tenants are usually same-day.
How does buying through TrellisPoint compare to buying direct from Microsoft or another partner?
Versus buying direct from Microsoft, you get a single point of contact across licensing, services, and support, plus access to our Microsoft Solutions Partner escalation paths when issues need to move faster than normal support queues. Versus other partners, the differentiator is that we also implement and support what we sell, so the team that troubleshoots a Dynamics 365 issue is the same team that scoped your licensing. Volume pricing applies for larger orders. Contact us for a quote tied to your specific user counts.
Can TrellisPoint take over our licenses from another partner mid-term?
Yes. We manage the partner-of-record (PoR) transition end-to-end. There is no service interruption and no reactivation cost. You keep your subscription dates, your tenant, and your data. The change takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
Which Microsoft Copilot do I actually need: Copilot Pro, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or Copilot Studio?
Most businesses want Microsoft 365 Copilot at $30 per user per month, which adds AI to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams and now includes the role-based experiences for Sales, Service, and Finance at no extra charge. Copilot Pro at $20 per month is the consumer plan and is not built for organizational deployments. Copilot Studio is for teams that want to build custom copilots, agents, or connectors on top of the Microsoft 365 stack. We can map the right mix to your specific use cases.
How will the July 2026 Microsoft price increases affect me?
Microsoft is raising most Microsoft 365 SKU prices effective July 1, 2026 (E3 from $36 to $39, E5 from $57 to $60, Business Standard from $12.50 to $14.50). Customers on active annual agreements stay at current pricing through their next renewal after that date. We will reach out before your renewal with the option to lock in current rates where Microsoft allows.
Can I add or remove licenses during my contract term?
You can add seats at any time during a term, and they prorate to your renewal date. Reductions depend on your commitment type: monthly subscriptions can shrink at any time, while annual commitments hold quantity through renewal under Microsoft's New Commerce Experience rules. We help you pick the commitment shape that gives you flexibility without giving up the discount.
Do you help us right-size licensing, or do you just sell what we ask for?
Right-sizing is part of every renewal cycle and any major change. We pull actual usage data from your tenant, flag licenses that are unused or over-spec'd, and recommend downgrades, SKU swaps, or removals. The goal is for you to pay only for what your team actually uses, not for shelfware.
Will I need to migrate or change any systems to switch licensing partners to TrellisPoint?
No. A partner-of-record change does not move your tenant, your data, or your users. Your Microsoft services keep running through Microsoft's cloud the entire time. The only thing that changes is the entity that bills you and provides commercial support.
