Dynamics 365 Copilot for Sales Licensing Explained 2024

You can’t go far today without hearing about Artificial Intelligence, or AI, but this time, it is more than just a buzzword. AI solutions offer genuine advantages for businesses, and Microsoft is at the head of the revolution with its Dynamics 365 Copilot package.

However, as with any new technology, it can be difficult to know where to begin with it all, so this guide will take you through the options available to take advantage of Microsoft Copilot and how to get Copilot for Sales in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Why do you need Copilot Licensing?

Before we look at the best approach for accessing Dynamics 365 Copilot for your business, you probably want to know why it should be part of your business at all. Copilot for sales is a generative AI solution created by Microsoft that integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft products.

Think of it as a virtual assistant that can create content, automate tasks and provide a range of supportive tools that can save an extraordinary amount of time in carrying out a wide range of daily tasks, increasing efficiency and profitability while reducing costs.

It also reduces time and costs for training new employees, as it allows queries in natural language, making it incredibly intuitive to use. Microsoft has focused their AI solution on contextual excellence, recognizing the words and context you use and ensuring that it delivers very natural, understandable output.

There are three tiers of Microsoft packages that include Copilot for Sales, but what is the best fit for your business?

At $95 per month, this option gives you the full Dynamic Sales Force Automation tools, including standard Copilot experiences in Sales, including natural language enquiries, opportunity and lead summaries, news bulletins, meeting preparation summaries and a full-screen view.

In addition, you can enjoy the standard Copilot experience in both Outlook and Teams.

Dynamic 365 Sales Premium

This $135 a month per user option includes Enterprise Sales Force Automation with additional advanced SFA tools to automate sales sequences, provide relationship analytics and other solutions. It also provides the standard Copilot for Sales experience in Outlook and Teams.

Keep in mind that to have Premium Copilot experiences in Outlook and Teams you’ll also need to purchase a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license.

Choosing the right Copilot Licensing Option

As you can see, Copilot is an addition to your existing Microsoft products, rather than a replacement. It is also important to recognize that it is designed to be tailored to specific use cases. Not everyone in your team will need Copilot, the idea is to give specific users the tools they need to be most effective.

Starting with Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise, this provides access to the basic Copilot experiences in Outlook and Teams, offering automated content generation for emails along with meeting summaries and so on. It is an entry into the AI supported workflow and a reasonable option for those looking to see what Copilot can do and how it impacts workloads.

Dynamics 365 Sales Premium adds a range of additional tools, including the premium experiences for Copilot for Sales within Outlook and Teams, and full integration into Microsoft 365 and all its apps but Copilot for Microsoft 365 itself is not included.

Preparing to take the next step to bringing AI into the heart of your business operations means understanding the tools available, and how to make the most of them. For Copilot for Sales, the options available allow you to test out how AI impacts your team and the productivity gains you can expect with various AI assistance levels for common tasks in Outlook, Teams, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
