Best-practice D365 Field Service configuration
Pre-built work order types, incident types, service territories, and resource models tuned to how field service teams actually run.
A fixed-fee, fixed-scope deployment of Dynamics 365 Field Service with work order management, AI-optimized scheduling, and mobile-ready field workflows with Copilot built into the technician experience. Your dispatchers and field team are live, productive, and AI-assisted in weeks.

Field service implementations get heavy fast. Work order logic, scheduling rules, asset hierarchies, mobile flows, integrations to ERP and billing, everyone wants their edge case in Phase 1. The result is a long build, a delayed rollout, and technicians stuck on paper, email, and whiteboards while the system waits to be finished.
Every scheduler, technician, and finance stakeholder adds a requirement. Nothing is prioritized by real operational impact.
Dispatchers stay in spreadsheets and technicians keep running calls from phone and email while the project drags on.
Copilot gets pushed to a future phase while technicians miss out on guided resolution and work order summaries already paid for in their Microsoft licenses.
The D365 Field Service Accelerator is fixed-fee and fixed-scope. You know exactly what you're getting before you commit. Every item below is included, nothing is left for a change order.
Pre-built work order types, incident types, service territories, and resource models tuned to how field service teams actually run.
Customer assets, service agreements, open work orders, and technician records mapped and moved from your current system.
AI-generated work order summaries, guided resolution steps, and technician assist live when your team logs in.
Schedule assistant and resource scheduling optimization match the right technician, skills, and parts to the right job.
Hands-on training for dispatchers, field technicians, and admins on both the platform and Copilot capabilities.
We stay through stabilization so dispatch issues, mobile quirks, and adoption gaps get resolved before they become problems.
Three phases. A predictable path to go-live. Fixed scope from kickoff to stabilization.
Confirm the configuration, service territories, data sources, and training plan. Document scope and sign off on the fixed fee before any build starts.
Best-practice configuration is stood up, work order and asset data is migrated, mobile is deployed, and Copilot in Field Service is activated in your Microsoft 365 tenant.
Dispatchers, technicians, and admins are trained by role, go-live is supported in real time, and early adoption is monitored through stabilization.
You don't get a half-configured dispatch board and a training deck. You get a productive, AI-assisted field service operation in weeks, with a platform ready to evolve as you learn what else it needs to do.
The D365 Field Service Accelerator fits any organization that dispatches technicians, services customer assets, or runs scheduled and reactive maintenance. These are the industries where we see the strongest fit.
OEMs and service organizations maintaining installed equipment, where asset history and first-time-fix rate drive customer retention.
Planned maintenance and reactive service calls, where schedule density, parts readiness, and dispatch accuracy drive margin.
Regulated service territories with complex crews and assets, where safety protocols and compliance documentation travel with every work order.
Field teams servicing regulated equipment in clinical and lab environments, where traceable service history and SLA compliance are non-negotiable.

TrellisPoint is a Microsoft Solutions Partner with 17+ years of Dynamics 365 implementation experience. We're built for outcome-based delivery, not billable hours.
Every Accelerator is priced and scoped up front. No surprise change orders, no runaway budgets.
Copilot is not a future project. It is activated and configured as part of the initial deployment.
The Accelerator is step one in a long-term engagement. Phase 2 customization is informed by real usage, not workshop guesses.
Every configuration aligns to Microsoft's security and governance model. No workarounds, no technical debt.
TrellisPoint's Field Service Accelerator is a fixed-fee, fixed-timeline D365 implementation designed for service organizations with mobile field teams. Every package includes Copilot AI, scheduling, mobile workflows, and the core capabilities your team needs to dispatch smarter, complete faster, and bill accurately.

Your Accelerator deployment is Phase 1. D365 Evolve is Phase 2: a continuous improvement engagement where TrellisPoint helps you expand capabilities, integrate IoT, add advanced analytics, and optimize processes based on real operational data. No big-bang follow-up project. Just steady, measurable progress.
The questions service operations leaders ask before they commit. If yours isn't here, ask your TrellisPoint advisor.
Data migration is included from any source system. The pre-approved integration list applies to live integrations we wire up at go-live, not to the source field service platform you're moving off of. If you're coming from ServiceMax, IFS, Salesforce Field Service Lightning, or a legacy in-house dispatch tool, we map and migrate work orders, customer assets, service agreements, and technician records as part of your tier's standard scope.
Every tier deploys the out-of-the-box D365 Field Service mobile app to your technicians, configured for your work order types and forms. Medium and Large tiers add offline mode, so technicians can complete work in low- or no-connectivity environments and sync when they're back online. Device provisioning (purchasing and enrolling iOS or Android devices) is your responsibility, but we'll guide the Intune or Endpoint Manager configuration.
The Small tier ships with manual scheduling supported by Schedule Assistant, which suggests the best technician based on skills, location, and availability. Medium adds Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO), Microsoft's AI-driven scheduling engine, which auto-matches and optimizes the daily schedule against your business rules. The Large tier adds territory management on top, so dispatchers can divide work by service area with cleaner crew and asset assignments.
The Accelerator gets your work order, scheduling, and mobile foundation live. IoT integration (connecting telemetry from customer assets to trigger work orders) and predictive maintenance models are Phase 2 work, handled through D365 Evolve. We do this deliberately because IoT scoping is much more accurate after you have real work order data flowing through D365.
Copilot in Field Service requires Microsoft 365 with the appropriate Copilot license attached. We'll confirm your licensing during scoping and flag any gaps before signing. If you don't have the right SKUs yet, we can help you procure them through TrellisPoint or your existing reseller before kickoff.
The fixed fee covers configuration, work order and asset migration, mobile app deployment, Copilot activation, training, and stabilization support per your tier. It does not cover Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 licensing (you procure those separately), IoT or telemetry integration, ERP and billing integrations beyond the pre-approved list, deeply custom development, or post-stabilization Phase 2 work. Phase 2 is handled through D365 Evolve, a separate continuous-improvement engagement.
The D365 Field Service Accelerator is one of three offers in the D365 Accelerators program. Pick the one that matches where your team needs to move first, and layer additional Accelerators as your business grows.
After go-live, most clients move into D365 Evolve, a continuous engagement where we build the integrations, automations, and customizations informed by real usage. From there, the AI Value Engine extends AI into specific business processes with governance and measurable ROI.
Schedule a conversation to confirm fit, timeline, and fixed-fee scope. We'll be upfront about whether the Field Service Accelerator is the right starting point, or whether a different Accelerator fits your business better.
