Project Service Automation (PSA) Key Dates

Although Microsoft will stop selling new Project Service Automation licenses on October 1, 2020, you have ample time to plan the transition to the new Project Operations app.

For CSPs – PSA software will remain operational and licenses can be renewed through October 1, 2022.
For EAs – PSA software will remain operational and licenses can be renewed through October 1, 2024.
Support and maintenance for PSA will continue until October 2024.

Project Operations Availability and Features

The new Dynamics 365 Project Operations app will be available on October 1, 2020 and merge the best capabilities of Microsoft’s existing project management software, including:

• Project Sales
• Project Planning
• Resource Utilization
• Team Collaboration
• Time and Expenses
• Project Accounting
• Business Intelligence

Transition to Project Operations

Microsoft is offering a migration path for current PSA and Dynamics 365CE & Plan 2 licenses to Project Operations. Current PSA customers will be grandfathered into their current licensing agreement. A Microsoft partner, like TrellisPoint, can work with your organization to ensure a successful transition to the new Project Operations app before the cut-off dates.
